Lean Hard

okayMy pastor has several pet topics he brings up nearly every Sunday. No matter the text, I can always count on at least one or two of several of these topics coming up again. One that has encouraged me lately is this:

1) God loves you more than you can ever imagine, and 2) God is sovereign. He is in control of everything. There is nothing that happens that he has not allowed. The necessary conclusion, if these two things are true is this: Everything will turn out fine in the long run, if we just keep our eyes on Jesus.

I’ve found this to be true, you know.

There is a reason for everything, from the 12th red light in a row during your commute, to the death of a loved one.

If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His infinite notice, what makes you think that any of the minutia of your day-to-day life will escape his sight?

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” ~Matthew 10:29-31 (NIV)

Everything matters. Always. Everything you are concerned about, matters to God. He cares for you, so much. Some say that God is a crutch. I agree. We could not walk if it weren’t for His grace.

He’s got this.

So, lean hard. Put all your weight on Him. His arms are strong to care for you. Whatever it is, it won’t last forever. Whatever He is doing within you, though, will last forever.

God bless you.

Grace & Peace,
