Weekly Photo Challenge: Light

Most of the photo challenge themes (within the framework of Post A Day 2011) have eluded me. I was intrigued by this week’s theme, and decided to give it a go, in spite of my non-photographer-ness. I have a decent camera, a small group of tips filed in my brain, and an ever-so-slightly artistic bent in my favor. That’s about it.

Without further ado, Light Through Roses (mouse over image to see title, click to see a larger image):

Well, that’s about it. I couldn’t choose just one, and I have to say I’m happy with them. I know that, to a true photographer, these are quite amateur, but that’s okay. I’m not here to impress anyone. I just wanted to find a way to enjoy my 10-year-anniversary roses forever.

Did you happen to participate? Leave a comment and let me know!

  1. Your roses are beautiful! I always enjoy seeing light through the delicate petals of flowers. I’m not a professional photographer either, but I enjoy taking pictures of ‘everyday life’ and sharing some of them. I subscribed to your blog and look forward to visiting again soon to read more. Hope you keep participating in the photo challenge! =)

  2. Tiff — Thanks for your comment on my blog. 🙂 I am writing again, because I just found something on Facebook and shared with my friends there — and after looking at your blog decided you and your family might enjoy, too. It’s a raptor project in Iowa, and a mama (or papa) eagle is sitting on the nest — first hatching is imminent — live video can be seen here: http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles !!! =)

  3. Great photos. I really love the last two with the light shining through the roses. Great work!!!

  4. Tiff, these are great! What a lovely way to remember a special day! I especially like the top two (because who can NOT like that little face?) Congratualtions again on your anniversary! Many blessings!
