So, this week, I am thankful…
…that I am free from bitterness, by the grace and mercy of God. Those shackles used to be so heavy, and I marvel at their conspicuous absence. No matter how much pain I feel at the hands of some others right now, it doesn’t take root. It’s weird, and unbelievable, but so wonderful!
…that I can see clearly the path set before me in one particular area of my life, and the confidence that comes with that knowledge. Even if it is only in that one area, it means so much to know once in awhile.
…for all the snow, and it’s precious reminder of what Jesus has done for me. (Isaiah 1:18)
…for a baby’s very first kisses! Just today, at lunch, I asked Schel for kisses, and she leaned in and gave me one!
…that it’s been so cold, that individual snowflakes could be examined. The kids and I stood enthralled with the majestic, tiny beauty resting on my dark brown wool coat sleeve on Sunday.
…for sincere and lovely compliments, that always seem to come at the right time.
…for our dinosaur excavating kits, and the kids getting clay all over their hands and faces as they take turns chipping away.
…for a Goodwill just outside of a very nice neighborhood. I see a shopping spree in my future!
…for everything I call mine. What a good God I serve, to share such bounty with me. May I always be ready and willing to share it.
“The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”
~Psalm 28:7 (NIV)
